Santanyí with the family: beaches, boats and adventure at sea
Santanyí Penthouse is ideal for families or groups of up to 7 people, and its surroundings are full of activities designed to enjoy with children. Calm sea, coves with amenities and plenty of water activities just minutes away. Here's our idea for a perfect week.
Safe coves for little ones
For family beach days, go for Cala Llombards and Cala Santanyí: fine sand, shallow water near the shore and amenities (beach bar, parking, sun loungers). S'Amarador, in Mondragó, is another great option for its protected setting and calm waters. Bring an umbrella and water, and in summer go in the morning.
No-licence boat hire
One of our guests' favourite experiences: renting a boat without needing a licence for a half or full day and discovering, from the sea, the coves you can't reach by land. There are rental companies at several spots in the area, 10-20 minutes away. A different and fun way to see the coastline.
Kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling
The calm waters of the southeast are perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding, even for beginners. With a snorkel mask, children are amazed by the marine life among the rocks of the coves. And for older ones, there are diving, sailing and water sports options dotted along the coast.
An adventure: Es Caragol
If the family enjoys walking, Es Caragol beach is one of the most spectacular unspoilt beaches in Mallorca. You reach it after about a 30-minute walk from Cap de Ses Salines (a 20-minute drive from the penthouse). It has no facilities, so it's a backpack, water and picnic plan, but the reward is a wild beach almost to yourselves.
Between swims, boat trips and excursions, and with the village of Santanyí as your base to eat, shop and rest, a family holiday in southern Mallorca organises itself.
